A birthday is properly celebrated with good company and better beer, and Double Nickel Brewing in Pennsauken supplied both in generous measure, an Irish sweater providing the only concession to the season's chill. It has quietly become one of my favorite breweries in South Jersey for any occasion worth marking.
A snowy return to Double Nickel Brewing confirmed the taproom is just as agreeable in winter as it was on my birthday, proof that the best breweries near Philadelphia in South Jersey deserve a visit in every season, not only the warm ones.
