I write the Jane Austen literary essays published on Emma Shorebreak, eleven of them so far. These are close readings of the novels, character defenses nobody requested, and the occasional family history that turns out to intersect with Austen's own more than expected. The nonfiction is only my foundation. I am also currently writing a Jane Austen inspired sapphic romance trilogy built around Caroline Bingley. I gave her a first defense in My Initial Defense of Caroline Bingley here. The novel itself attempts something larger: an actual redemption. More to come as it gets closer to a shelf.
I bring that same eye for wit and detail to the road as well, covering the Northeast United States the way I imagine Austen would have, had she ever made it this far.

A distant, and distinctly less flattering, family connection to Austen's own life turned up when I traced the Hinton name back far enough. It is the reason this byline reads the way it does.
